Article FAQ

Is simply implementing Schema.org correctly enough for AI to better understand a website?
No. A green result in the validator only indicates the code is syntactically correct. For it to be meaningful to AI, the entities, relationships, and attributes must match the website's content.
Why use structured data if AI can read plain text?
Plain text leaves more room for guesswork. Structured data clearly indicates whether something refers to a product, an author, an organization, or a procedure, so the system can link facts more easily and is less likely to confuse them.
What is the most common mistake when implementing Schema.org for AI?
Most often, schema is treated as an add-on for rich results. Simply adding Article, FAQPage, or Product without linking them to WebPage, Organization, or Person does not provide full context.
Which Schema.org types are most important for expert content?
The most commonly useful are Article or BlogPosting, WebPage, Organization, Person, and BreadcrumbList. For descriptions of devices or procedures, it’s also worth adding Product, MedicalEntity, or a type more closely related to the site’s actual topic.
Do structured data help appear in AI Overview or in AI-generated answers?
They can help, but they don't act like a switch. They make it easier for the system to understand who is publishing the content, what it is about, and which entities on the page are most important.
How can I check if the schema markup really supports the site's semantics?
Compare the JSON-LD with what the user actually sees: the title, the author, the attributes/specifications, the category, and the internal linking. Then check whether the same entities appear elsewhere on the site under the same name.
Is it sufficient to label each entry only as Article?
You can do that, but it's usually not enough. Such a label only indicates that it's an article and doesn't show relationships with the author, organization, knowledge category, or the product being described.
How important is the consistency of structured data with the visible content of the page?
Very important. If the schema specifies a different author, different parameters, or a different object type than the page content, the system receives conflicting signals and finds it harder to trust such a source.
Does schema markup have greater importance for YMYL content?
Yes. For health, diagnostics, and medical-device topics, systems are more cautious. Structured data helps demonstrate the author, organization, and topical scope, but it must be backed up by the content itself and the domain’s credibility.
Where should I start when implementing Schema.org on a site with expert content or products?
First, map out the entities: the organization, authors, categories, articles, products, and their attributes. Only then describe the relationships between them and choose the appropriate Schema.org types, rather than pasting ready-made markup on individual pages.
